He slowly read the sentence then looked at me and said very seriously "I've done that many times. "

Pumpkins!

Every year I forget how hard carving pumpkins is! Jeez, I don't know how people do those really intricate ones. And each year I think, about mid-carve: next year I'm going to get some power tools to make this easier!  But I never do. And it's always the same...a little sweat, silent cursing, and then viola!  My sweet boys are over the moon excited about their pumpkins, literally jumping up and down.. running to the front window every 2 minutes to check on them.  And then it all seems like such a wonderful tradition.   💕🎃

Fall Break 2013

First fall break ever for the boys this year.  With the craziness and everything that's been going on in our lives lately I am excited to have a fun week with them.  Monday, we went and hung out with Nana for the day.  She was 4 days post surgery so we went down and visited with her, went out to lunch, and made an obligatory trip to Target of course.  We got home and around 8:30 that evening Pamala and I arranged an impromptu sleepover with Fisher and Nellie.  She brought them over and the kids had fun playing for a couple of hours - it's been a long time since we've all been able to hang out so the kids were so excited.  They got to stay up late and I didn't put them to bed until about 11.  I gave them a while to whisper and giggle.  About midnight I heard some more whispers so I went down to investigate.  They were having a disagreement over the nightlight which wasn't staying on the bedpost.  I told them if I continued to hear talking I would have to put them all in separate rooms - that was the end of that.  

Today, Tuesday, they got to play with Fisher and Nellie all morning, who I took home around 11.  Then we met Jessica and Scott and their boys Chase and Cooper for lunch.  Of course they had fun playing with them.  On tap tonight....pumpkin carving!

Dane:  Nooo, what KIND is it, what is it called?
Me:   (trying to figure out what he's getting at) A Chevy Trailblazer, an SUV.
Dane:  Why isn't it called a Corvette?
