Will's Rainbows

Will draws the rainbow in the correct color order. This is not the first time he's done this.   He doesn't know the order or "Roy g biv" he just picks the colors in the correct order. How amazing is that?  He was all by himself when he drew this,  I didn't see it until he was finished.

End of Day 1

Not bad Luke Payton!

Turn Lemons Into Lemonade

We lost a large oak tree in the pasture behind our house a few weeks ago. Today Luke had a vision.  He cut a section out of the giant tree and began carving away.  He's making a bench seat. Part of it will have a back (where he's sitting) and the left side of it will be a bench seat. With arm rests of course.  Love his creativity.

Michigan July Trip - Part III

The 3rd leg of the trip was an in and out revolving door of people coming and going.  Luke, Jon, Madalynn, Tricia, Amy, Raegan, and Baylor.  And of course my mom and Chuck came up on Thursday and will stay for 2 1/2 weeks.  It was a colder week (thanks a lot polar vortex!) but still wonderful.  The highs during the days were about perfect and cool evenings and mornings.  Water (wind) was coming from the north which made the water cloudier and too cold for any swimming, until our last day.

...another gorgeous sunet... (stop it Luke!!)

Dane relaxing one afternoon with Dada.

Will and Madalynn were so cute and I can't decide which photo I like better so I'm posting them both.

Will, Dane, and Madalynn played really well together.  She was tough, hanging with the boys. :)  Will, and usually Dane, are really sweet with her and protective.  It was really cute to watch them.  And good to spend some time with her, she's getting so big and is a really sweet little girl.

Sunset

Luke makes fun of me because I take so many water and sunset pictures, but they're incredible! I probably always will.  Last night the sky changed so much in just a few minutes - probably 5 total.

Going..

Gone.

And then a couple of minutes later.

Michigan 4th of July - Part II

Summit Park is nearby and they recently got new playground equipment.  The boys have had fun playing on it - we've been there twice this week.

Good place to dig a hole...and not a bad view!

King of the mountain!  The weather has been much cooler than usual this year, but nice.  Great beach playing and walking weather.  It's been in the low 70s most days and down in the 50s a lot of nights.

Look at these sweet boys.

The boys had fun today, it was gorgeous.  Pretty calm water, about 74, and bright blue sky. They were playing on their boogie boards.  Will was pushing his board out into the water and jumping on to see how far he could ride it out.  It was fun watching them.

Michigan 4th of July - Part I

This is the 4th year in a row the Dunscombes have come up to celebrate the 4th of July in Michigan with us.  We have such a fun time.  The kids love it and it's great to spend a few days with our good friends.  Our first night we had an impressive sunset!
Fisher, Nellie, Will and Dane

The gorgeous sunset.

On top of the dune.

Family shot from the top.  Dane looks like he's ready to go down a roller coaster.  (which is about what it's like running down it)  Will and Dane both took a face plant, but it's so much fun they both popped right up and kept going.

At the outlet they dug a hole in the side of a dune.  The beach is funny this year there's a lot of cliffs of dune by the water.  Makes for fun climbing, digging and shoveling.
