A favorite pastime around here - feeding and watching the deer.

My responsible little pet owner - taking baby kitty for her first visit to the vet. Will is being so good with her.

Joe Cool and Will with baby kitty at vet. Dane insisted on wearing his shades the whole afternoon - vet, store, and then beach, without taking them off. Inside too - and the whole time they were upside down. :)

Not a bad place to play trucks. It was really windy today! But still had a great time.

Picnic lunch

The other day we went with Pamala and Fisher to a great little park and hiking trail about 2 miles from our house to have a picnic lunch and let the boys wade around in the creek. They had a great time!
The boys are such good travelers!! I don't think I heard more than a peep out of them the whole 6 hr ride up!
Saw a turkey on our way to the store this morning!
Good thing we are going to Michigan! I have about 4 months of magazines to catch up on!

Spring Break 2012

We made it up to Michigan yesterday and settled in, made a trip to the store. This morning we are at the playground. An elementary school here has the most amazing playground equipment. This picture doesn't even show the whole thing or do it justice. It's wooden and has mazes, secret hiding spots, all kinds of bridges and things to play on. The boys are having a great time and we are so happy to be here!!!!

Yesterday was Opa's birthday and Will drew a picture of Opa on his card. :)
I love him more than life itself!!!!!

Benny has a new favorite pastime. He likes to hop around and torment Rosco.

We Like to Walk, We Like to Walk

When Will was born my mom and Sandy gifted us with a BOB jogging stroller. It was an incredible gift and boy have we used it. If it's acceptable weather out and we're home, we are out walking. That stroller has hundreds of miles on it. About the time Dane was born, Will started walking on his own along with me (us). For almost 5 years now we've used that stroller a LOT. Well, Dane has started to want to walk with us sometimes now. It's fun to see, and sad at the same time. Beginning of a new era, end of an old one. :( I don't know what I'll do when I walk if I'm not pushing that BOB along! I guess if I look at the silver lining, it will free us up to walk where ever we want - like back behind our house where I used to walk Rosco before Will was born. It's a bit too bumpy to take a stroller back there, but it's beautiful. Anyway, today on our walk Will wanted to ride his hotwheel - so I took a video of him. And I also took one of Dane walking - he's discovered his pockets so he likes to walk with his hands in his pockets and I think it's hilarious. :) My big boys...

We went to Jackson's 5th birthday party this week at Monkey Joes in greenwood. The boys had a great time and Dane partied like one of the big kids.

My little green bean

After bath I thought Will looked like some type of green bean or a flower or something all wrapped up like that.

I took these pictures the other day off our back deck. It was absolutely gorgeous out with the dark stormy skies and then the sun shining.

Sweet Dreams

So Will can give me a true run for my money. But he can also be the sweetest little boy ever. Since Luke is back working in Ohio, Will was quick to begin asking me if he can sleep with me again. Both our boys are great sleepers. And I feel like that is largely due to things that we have deliberately done and rules that we keep. We were pretty serious about sleep training them and it's worked wonders. Dane never wakes up in the night, but Will sometimes does, and he's always welcome to sleep in our room if he's scared or whatever, but the rule is that he has to sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor. This helps keep him from sleeping in our room every night just for fun. Before Luke was at home I would let Will sleep with me one night a week. The truth is that I love sleeping with him. He's a great bed partner. I put a pillow between us so he doesn't roll over on me and I don't even know he's there. He slept with me last night, and asked to again tonight. I was being a softie and I told him ok. I was tucking him in tonight (before I came back down to watch tv for a while) and he said in the sweetest little voice "Will you wake me up when you come to bed so we can hold hands?" He can just melt my heart, that sweet little boy.

The Start of Spring...

...means happy dog!

Sometimes these boys fight like cats and dogs. Will can push Danes buttons like nobody's business. And they can push me to my absolute wits end at times. Then they will do something like this. Will had asked for snacks for both of them. Then they each went and picked out a book and sat down and quietly flipped through their books and ate their snacks. What sweet boys they can be!
Poor little sick Dane. :(
