Saturday

I was hoping to run the 5k turkey trot with Will this morning, but he has a bad cough and its spitting freezing rain. The cards were stacked against us there (no pun intended) so we decided to play Uno and Dada's making biscuits and gravy. Not a bad Saturday morning with my loves.  Despite Will's expression bc his cough is making his head hurt, we are all having fun. :)
Ps: the boys have been refusing to sleep in anything but their underwear lately. We'll see if that changes as the weather gets colder..

PSS: Will ended up getting much worse as the day went on.  I took him to the Dr. - croup.  That night, Dane got a stomach bug.  This month of November has really done a number on our poor boys. We can't seem to catch a break.  :(

He was running and running

This child could run and run and run. This week we were on our way home and when we were about a half mile away he asked if he could get out and run. I got a tad closer and then let him. He loves it. And he's so fast. Pretty neat.

News

This morning before work & school I was blow drying my hair in the bathroom when Dane comes in and says "I need to tell you about something that was just on the news."
"Ok" I said, holding my breath, and waiting to hear what in the world it might be. Half the time I'm nervous to even have the news on with the boys around because who knows what shooting or horrible news is going to be reported next. My thumb is rarely too far from the mute button.
Anyway, Dane responds "lots people are trying to find love!"  I smiled and said "oh! Well that's great!" (Sighing a breath of relief)  Then he says "and it's happening across the nation!"

Veterans Day 2015

I'm grateful we got to spend this Veterans Day with our favorite Veteran, my Dad, who served in the Air Force.  I'm also grateful that Will and Dane go to an awesome elementary school that had an impressive Veterans Day program and that my Dad was able to join us!
Opa standing to be honored for serving in the Air Force at Paragon Elementary.

Where!

This child, in the last hour, has eaten:
2 slices of pizza
2 breadsticks
A cookie
A large bowl of popcorn
A large glass of orange juice.

As he was just going back for more to drink I said to him where are you putting all that?!?

He lifted up his shirt and showed me his belly. Seriously!!??!? Where is he putting all that!!

(And no judgments on this Friday night dinner.  Daddy is in South Dakota on his hunting trip and it's been a long week for this Momma!)

Halloween 2015

Dane is Captain America and Will is a football player (woo hoo read: free "costume"!:)
The past 4 or 5 years we have spent Halloween with the Dunscombes. We used to go over to their house for dinner and then trick or treat in the neighborhood. Chad would pull a trailer hooked up to their 4-wheeler and the kids loved it. They loved two years ago so now we eat at our house and then drive to the neighborhood. If the weather would cooperate one of these years we would probably hook up the trailer to the Ranger but the past two years it's been too cold/rainy. Still a really fun evening and the kids have a blast. We all come back to our house and last night the adults watched a scary movie while the kids sort through/trade/eat candy.  This morning the boys combined and sorted their candy. This is their booty.. :)

Mrs. Rice

Dane's teacher this years name is Mrs. Rice. He colored her a picture this week and wanted to take it to her. He was sounding out her name here at the top of the page. How cute is he!? And he's exactly right... That darn english language.😡
He's doing such a good job learning to read and write. It's so fun to watch.

Will

This child.

Will wears the funniest things these days. He has begun caring about his clothes. So where I used to be able to lay out his outfits for him, that no longer works. And because I pick my battles with this strong-willed child, clothes usually aren't at the top of that list. He typically goes for athletic shorts and an Under Armour t-shirt. He prefers it if his shorts are UA also. And his socks and of course his shoes are. 🙄
If all of the above mentioned items are dirty, that's when things get interesting.  We've had a few conversations about what types of clothes go well together, what colors match, or rather, don't match. At home, when he has free reign is when it is the most entertaining.  I usually forget to snap a pic, but here are two.

This was the other morning. He slept in his pants and robe. He looked like a little man.

This was last night. I had to take this when he was brushing his teeth.  Just red knee socks and his underwear. That's all.  I love it.
