Before we remodeled our house you walked up onto a deck and entered the house on the 2nd level. We changed the location of the front door so it would be at ground level. When they tore down the old deck, we discovered a concrete pad underneath. Unfortunately it was slanted toward the house so when it rained the water ran straight to the house. Not exactly ideal. We knew we were going to have to tear it out but we had been putting it off for a number of reasons. Well, this past Saturday was the day. Luke rented a jack hammer and went to town. He broke up all the concrete and we all worked to load it up and haul it away. Will was very excited for this project! But first we had to get ready.
Work gloves - Check!
Protective eye covering - Check!
Protective ear covering - Check!
Tough Attitude - Check!
He was ready to go.

Getting to work..

Luke let me give it a whirl.

This concrete pad was Will's favorite place to set up a construction site. He loved to get out his tractors and play with them in the dirt that accumulated there. He decided to get one last fix.

Empty- Finally!

...and filled with dirt. Now we'll just have to plant some grass seed and a BIG bush where the brick is discolored. :)
