Our Tree

Our oak tree. Luke and I were married under this giant beauty. I like to take pictures of it at different times of the year - in the snow, in the summer, with ice crystals hanging from it, under the moon, etc. Luke has kept a path mowed through the pasture so that we can walk down to the tree easily. Yesterday was a gorgeous day; about 75 and sunny with a nice breeze, and in the shade under our tree it was magical. It's hard to describe the magnitude of this tree unless you get right up to it - anyone at our wedding knows how immense it is. It has weathered probably over a century of life and storms; it's been struck by lightning. Yet it's still thriving and beautiful. We love our tree. Funny how an old tree can be so special, but it certainly is.
